Infection Alert

Infection Alert IHM provides a daily report which uses clinical information to highlight early detection indicators of infection.  Infection Alert (IA) gathers current information on abnormal clinical parameters to help clinicians prioritize care reviews twice daily.  This program dramatically reduces the manual collection of data from multiple sources allowing the practitioner take action by providing concurrent interventions with the most vulnerable patients as their condition changes and actively reduces the risk of infection.

Infection Alert (IA) offers:

  • Detailed individual patient clinical information in 24, 48 and 72 hour displays (e.g. weekend views on Monday morning using 72 hour window)
  • Overview of patients that meet clinical indicators of temperature, white blood cell count, cultures and antibiotics
  • Identification of all patients on a ventilator, central line, urinary catheter or precautions
  • Patient level drilldown including listing of roommates and all locations the patient was assigned during a particular hospitalization
  • Elimination of manual chart review to gather data for prioritization
  • Monthly totals of device days by specific device and unit

IA will help:

  • Save time in data collection and provide data that currently is not available on the Infection Control Practitioner’s desktop
  • Provide a house-wide view of all patients who are vulnerable to infections
  • Target patients that require specific immediate interventions or change in care plan
  • Provide trending of MRDOs by specific patient location
  • Maximize your investment in MEDITECH
  • Maximize your revenue by reduction of the nosocomial infection rate with real time interventions based on clinical data available at 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM each day
