Quality Alert™

IHM's Quality Alert product highlights care that has been delivered- or not yet delivered- while a patient is still in the hospital. Quality Alert provides near real time information on patients most appropriate for special attention and dramatically reduces the manual collection of data from multiple sources.

Quality Alert™ offers:

  • Detailed individual patient clinical information delivered twice daily
  • Identification of critical populations at a glance gathered from hospital care documentation and compared to established evidence based guidelines prescribed by:
    • Core Measures from the Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), American Heart and Stroke Associations Practice Guidelines
    • Nursing sensitive indicators such as fall assessment, restraints and skin assessments from the National Quality Forum (NQF) and the National Database of Nursing Quality indicators (NDNQI)
    • Bundle Approach to care of VAP, Central Line and DVT/PE prevention from IHI
    • Critical Medical events such as sepsis and blood sugar management of the acutely ill patient from the Society for Critical Care Medicine and IHI
    • Critical laboratory results and rescue medications from the Institute for healthcare Improvement (IHI) Global Trigger Tool
    • Critical Medication events from the Institute for Safe Medication Practice and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
  • Patient level drilldown including all electronically available notes
  • Greatly reduced need for manual chart review to gather data for prioritization

Quality Alert™ enables hospitals to:

  • Provide a house-wide view of potentially vulnerable patient populations that will be core measure patients
  • Target patients who require specific immediate interventions or change in care plan
