Student Fellowships - Informatics Initiative

Pre- and postdoctoral fellowships provide support for emerging scholars to complete work on projects related to the Institute for Health Metrics's Informatics Initiative. Recipients are in residence at the Institute, where they pursue research to complete their dissertations or to expand them for publication.

Applications are welcome from scholars of all nationalities who are working in clinical care, epidemiology, biostatistics, healthcare informatics, and health policy.

Predoctoral fellowship applicants must have advanced to candidacy and expect to complete their dissertations during the fellowship period. Postdoctoral fellowship applicants must have received their degree no earlier than 1998.

Predoctoral fellows are in residence for the entire academic year (from September 2006 to June 2007), and receive a stipend of $18,000. Postdoctoral fellows are also in residence for the academic year and receive a stipend of $22,000. Both fellowships provide office space and health benefits.
