Our Mission

The mission of the Institute for Health Metrics is to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care by enabling research and development of quality measurement and best practices.

The Institute for Health Metrics (IHM) is a collaboration between leading hospitals and researchers to:

Study patterns of care;
Develop effective care metrics and risk adjustment algorithms;
Disseminate practice protocols; and
Improve the effectiveness, safety and efficiency of health care using health data and information technologies

Our Trust Model has several components which combine to establish a transparent, auditable and secure system, integrating privacy, security and ethical considerations to further healthcare quality improvement.
